Base End Station B1 S1 for Battery 292 and Searchlights No. 11 and No. 12 The Base End Station B1 S1 for Battery 292 was positioned atop a 90-foot timber tower. The station was completed and manned through 1944. Searchlights No. 11 and No. 12 both had splinter-proof concrete shelters with metal-plated wooden doors for protection. There was a splinter-proof concrete double Distant Electric Control (DEC) Station built that housed the controllers for both searchlights. A separate power plant provided the power for both searchlights. |
